Who we are
Gharibwal Cement Limited (GCL) is incorporated on December 29, 1960 as a public limited company with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan. GCL's equity shares are quoted on Pakistan Stock Exchange. GCL is a member of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

What we do
We are principally engaged in production and sales of cement.

Cement produced by us has played an important role in several national construction projects such as the Mangla Dam, Qadirabad Barrage, Sulemanki Barrage etc.

Manufacturing Facilities
Our operations are anchored by a modern, state-of-the-art cement manufacturing plant with an installed clinker production capacity of 7,500 tons per day. The plant integrates a robust blend of approximately 60% proven Chinese technology and 40% premium European technology, all of which has been extensively tested and successfully deployed globally, including within Pakistan. Critical and high-precision equipment—such as the raw mill, coal mill, electrical and instrumentation systems, and packing plant—are of European origin, ensuring superior reliability, efficiency, and product quality.

We are strategically advantaged by company-owned quarries of high-grade limestone and shale, the principal raw materials for cement production, with geological reserves sufficient for over 200 years of sustained operations. A 13.5-kilometer state-of-the-art downhill conveyor system, with a handling capacity of 1,200 tons per hour, transports raw materials directly from the quarry to the pre-blending yard. In addition to material handling efficiency, this conveyor system is equipped with regenerative technology, generating up to 1.1 MW of electricity, thereby enhancing energy self-sufficiency during operation.

Power sustainability remains a core pillar of our manufacturing strategy. We operate an in-house power generation facility with a total capacity of 38.5 MW, complemented by a 20 MW Waste Heat Recovery (WHR) plant, which efficiently converts waste heat from process gases and coal-fired systems into electricity. Further strengthening our renewable energy footprint, a 24.5 MW solar power plant contributes clean energy to our operations, significantly reducing carbon emissions and supporting our long-term sustainability objectives.

To support future growth and meet rising market demand, we are currently developing a new clinker production line (Line-II) with a capacity of up to 10,000 tons per day. The core pyro-processing equipment and process design have been sourced from FLSmidth, a globally renowned leader in cement technology. Civil construction and mechanical erection activities for Line-II are progressing in line with project milestones.
